Causes of Acne
Acne is caused by the body’s increased production of the hormone androgen (produced by both men and women) which stimulate the sebaceous glands to produce more oil. The increased production of oil causes more pores to become blocked so that the oil cannot come up to the skin's surface.
The acne itself is an infection caused by skin bacteria that feed on and break down this oil. As bacteria multiply, waste products and sebatic acids are created and the sebaceous gland becomes inflamed, causing what's known as a blackhead, a whitehead or a pimple. Reduction of inflammatory acne using IPL/Laser Acne treatment - suitable for both teenagers & adults. For large areas, this procedure takes up to approx 40mins. Using short bursts of light to help reduce inflammation by slowing down over production of oil that leads to acne. This is followed by blue light therapy to reduce inflammation & kill bacteria. Not suitable for dark skin types. Patch test & consultation required for all laser treatments.
